Dr. Plasker releases '100-Year
Lifestyle' book
International wellness expert and veteran chiropractor Eric
Plasker will release his first book this month.
Scheduled to
be in major bookstores across the nation, "The
100‑Year Lifestyle: Dr. Plasker's Breakthrough Solution
for Living Your Best Life ‑‑ Every Day of Your
Life" offers readers a total‑life plan for increasing
both the quality and quantity of their years. Endorsed by numerous
chiropractic leaders, notables such as Jack LaLanne, Usher,
Stedman Graham, Barbara DeAngelis, Ivan Misner (BNI), and
Mark Victor Hansen, as well as fitness institutions like
Gold's Gym International and the American Council on Exercise,
this book promises to be a best seller both inside and outside
the chiropractic profession.
The ground‑breaking book
is based on Dr. Plasker's wellness system, taught at The Family
Practice seminars. It explores ways to extend lifespan and
live life to the fullest and promotes lifetime chiropractic
care. Centenarians are one of the world's fastest‑growing
segments of the population, and people are far more likely
to reach this milestone today than ever before. Anyone who
is 40 years of age today could live to be 100 years old,
and their grandchildren even longer than that.
However, the
problem is that few of the 450,000 centenarians now alive expected
to live that long, and most simply weren't prepared for it.
Since they didn't know how to care for themselves to prepare
for and enjoy this marathon, many of them are now living with
physical, financial, emotional and spiritual difficulties,
Plasker explains.
Things can be different for future centenarians,
who now have access to information about The 100‑Year
Lifestyle.
"If you knew you were going to live to be 100, how
would you change your life this year?" Plasker asks.
The advice contained in "The 100‑Year Lifestyle" enables
people to make the most of their remaining years through
a unique, total‑life program that addresses health,
diet, nutrition, exercise, mental agility, creativity, finances,
friends and family, work, community, and achieving a sense
of purpose. Readers can also customize the 100‑Year
Lifestyle to suit their specific goals and dreams.
One of Plasker's
goals is to raise awareness that people are more responsible
for their aging fate than their genes. According to a study
by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, just
30% of aging is based on genetic heritage while 70% is attributed
to lifestyle choices. Inspirational accounts of real people
who broke destructive patterns and overcame adverse situations
help readers grasp the book's theme of aiming for progress
over perfection.
Advising against quick fixes, Plasker argues
that consistent change over a lifetime results in the long‑term transformation
necessary for a quality extended lifespan. This preventative, "non‑crisis" approach
helps support the body and mind to function at its maximum
potential for optimum personal gain. The 100‑Year Lifestyle
shows readers how to not only survive, but thrive right into
their second century, and learn to accept this gift of time
not with reluctance, but a sense of opportunity.
"Like it or not, the odds of you living longer are
increasing every day," he says. "Embracing these
principles will ensure that you enjoy a sensational century!" The
100‑Year
Lifestyle program has already been introduced to the public
through chiropractic offices around the country and offers
a new dimension to chiropractic care that can significantly
increase patient volume. In fact, doctors who implemented it
in 2006 reported a combined increase of more than $2 million
per month in revenues.
Plasker is the founder of The Family
Practice, a coaching, training and practice management company
helping doctors build successful lifetime family wellness practices.
A graduate of Life Chiropractic College and former owner of
two highly successful family practices, he has been featured
on the Discovery Channel's "Forever Young" and Connecting
with Kids television network. He has shared the stage with
such luminaries as Drs. Barbara De Angelis, Wayne Dyer, and
Andrew Weil.
