Dr. Michael S. Brackney Canton, Michigan USA

In my former incarnation, I was a ballet dancer. It is an art form that is hard on all parts of a body, no matter how rewarding for the spirit. Over the years, I tore tendons in my legs, damaged the joints in my feet, was dropped by partners and strained my body repeatedly into positions that were unnatural to the construction of my physique. In my late teens and early twenties, it would take only a few minutes of walking in a shopping mall, or even standing in line at the post office, I would get a sudden spasm of pain in my lower back that would take my knees out from under me.

In my mid-twenties I underwent two years of painful fertility treatments before I finally became pregnant with my son. I am less than five feet tall and delivered an almost seven pound baby after 38 hours of painful back labor, three rounds of petocin and a C-section. For over two years following, I wandered around sleep deprived and in constant pain, catching every virus that went around and never fully recovering. My first thought that something was really wrong was when I woke up one morning feeling like I had an anvil on my chest, not able to breathe. The doctors at Urgent Care told me that I was having a panic attack, and that I should get some rest. The pain and difficulty breathing got worse over a period of two years, and I began having migraines and nausea almost every day. Unfortunately, not even 800 milligrams of Advil and a prescription for Xanax made a dent in the pain. The doctors said they couldn't do anything to help me. There were many days that I felt so miserable I was afraid I'd end up in the hospital.

Then this past summer, I attended Canton's Liberty Fest with my husband and son, when a member of Dr. Brackney's staff approached me with an offer to come in and get checked out for just $20. I was surprised when my husband was convinced that is was something that I should try, considering that he is a "hard-sell skeptic" about everything. So I went. Needless to say, my x-rays showed that I had many areas of my spine that were unhealthy and had been "subluxated" for a long period of time. My husband and I didn't need any further convincing that this was something that I should try, since nothing else was working and the pain was getting progressively worse.

I was shocked when I felt an enormous improvement after just one adjustment. Like magic, I noticed that I could freely turn my head when driving the car home. And it just keeps getting better. We went to Mackinaw this summer and I walked around all day sightseeing and felt NO PAIN AT ALL - EVER. I haven't taken even one Xanax or Advil since my first appointment. Suffice it to say, not only is Dr. Brackney a kind man, but I do believe that he truly has the healing touch. He is highly skilled in his profession, and I greatly admire his alternative and progressive ideas about health and healing. His office staff is lovely and they operate their business like a well-oiled machine.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to try chiropractic - I certainly wasted a lot of time being sick and in pain. I truly feel like a new person - no joke. It would be an understatement to say that I am impressed with Dr. Brackney and Chiropractic in general. I would recommend this practice to anyone, without hesitation.
