Drs. David and Jennifer Cretsinger Amherst, New Hampshire

In November of 2003, I was introduced to Spinal Corrective Center. My stepfather suggested I go and get checked out due to some health problems I had been dealing with for years. I had been having headaches, which progressed to migraines for 11 years. Since the birth of my son, the migraines had become a daily, debilitating occurrence. Asthma that I had been diagnosed with at eight years old had become progressively worse. I had to go to the emergency room three times in six weeks because I couldn't breathe. Every time I got a cold it would turn into a respiratory infection and I would go through a round of antibiotics and steroids.

I had eczema so badly on my hands that I spent the winter in band-aids because my skin was so dry it cracked. All in all I was taking six different prescriptions. Two for migraines, one of which affected my blood pressure and the other that causes heart problems. Three for asthma and a steroid cream for eczema. (The steroid cream carries the FDA Black box warning as it is highly carcinogenic.)

Until I started chiropractic care it never occurred to me that there was a better way. I had wondered from time to time why the doctors never tried to figure out why I had migraines, why the asthma was getting worse or why I suddenly was diagnosed with eczema at 22. I didn't realize that those were signals from my body telling me all was not well.

My first x-rays showed that I had a -8 degree curve in my neck. I started getting adjusted and after just two weeks the migraines were gone. After six months I was able to stop taking all the asthma medication and the pattern of respiratory infections had disappeared, as had the eczema.

After three months of care Dr. Jen encouraged me to have my two children checked. My daughter, Amber, who is now six, is the healthy kid. My son, Taylor, started a pattern of breathing problems at 7 months. Every time he got a cold he would have to use a nebulizer 3-4 times a day in order to breathe, along with antibiotics and steroids, as he got older.

Amber and Taylor started getting adjusted in February 2004. They are healthy and more importantly when they do get sick their bodies work efficiently to bring them back to health. We are a drug free family. We have also recently become a sugar free family. We do find this to be a challenge with young children but the benefits are enormous. My hope for my children is that through continued chiropractic care and healthy habits such as diet and exercise they will become healthy adults, unlike their mom.

I have been working for a year to convince my husband to try chiropractic care and he had his x-rays done last week! I am looking forward to being a healthy, happy chiropractic family. I am so grateful to Dr. David, Dr. Jen and everybody at SCC for showing my family the way to health.
