Dr. Hakan Bilal of St Albans in the state Victoria, Australia

My name is Edward; I am a 58 years old male, a second generation Australian of English ancestry.

For a number of years I have experienced lower back pain and restricted movement and pain in my neck, the cause of which I can't attribute to any one incident, but as I have worked for over the past forty years in the heavy transport industry as a Diesel Mechanic and a Supervisor, this may have contributed to my condition.

In February I read an advertisement in the local paper from Health Wise Chiropractic, offering a spinal assessment and X Ray, which I attended and to my amazement the results revealed that I had deterioration to the vertebra in my neck and the natural curvature of my neck had straightened, my right shoulder was lower than my left and along with a misalignment of the vertebra in my lower back, I was in serious need of treatment.

After consultation with Dr Hakan Bilal I was advised that my lower back could be fixed but my neck would never be 100% again as I had a phase 2 subluxation in that area and it may take up to two years of treatment to rectify the problem. A plan was put in place to have re alignments of my spinal column done three times a week, along with daily aerobic and traction exercises designed to strengthen the area was commenced.

After three months of this treatment I had a further X Ray which indicated that the treatment was indeed working as my lower back was realigned and the natural curvature in my neck had considerably improved and consequently a new plan has been implemented were as I now have re alignments done twice a week, and continue with the daily aerobic and traction exercises.

All in all I am very happy with the treatment I have received, my lower back is very good, I used to struggle to get out of bed in the morning and always had pain in that region. This no longer exists and I can even get down on the floor and play with my grand children with no discomfort.

My neck is getting better, prior to the treatment, whilst driving I couldn't turn my head fully to either side with out turning my body, I can now do this. Also I had trouble drinking out of a can as I couldn't extend my head right back, this has also improved. Although some pain is still present in my neck region, I believe the treatment I am receiving is beneficial and I'm looking forward to the next 3 months treatment and re assessment.
