finland chiropractic
Dr. Harri Maki-Pesola Pori, Finland
I was first referred to this new type of chiropractor
by a dear friend of mine. She had suffered from long lasting
low back pain and had got so much help for her problem, she
convinced me to go for a check up at her chiropractor. I
resisted for months, because my friend is young and easy
to fix but I had seen a chiropractor for years every time
I had a back problem, yet the x-ray still examination showed
I have a severe case of degeneration in my lower back as
well as a bad scoliosis.
Apparently, good feeling after my
occasional treatment didn't do much good anyway. I still
degenerated more than most people at my age. Would this new
doctor do any better? Another reason I resisted, was my friend
told me that health and wellbeing would take a lot longer
than just few visit. I could not understand this, because
both of my friend's healthy, near teenage kids were under
care as well. Why would they need chiropractic care, they
had no pain? All this just wouldn't make any sense to me!
But. going
to the office first time changed it all for me. I met the
doctor and his assistant, both of whom I used to teach in
high school. This time the doctor taught me showed me what
the real problem was. All the information was so much easier
to understand than what I had previously experienced elsewhere.
I learned that as the previous care had been appropriate,
no one cared me enough to suggest any maintenance and due
to lack of it, my spine had started to rot.
I also learned
that as it seemed impossible to reverse the degeneration,
with proper care my back should be maintained at good functional
level. That was all I needed to know! I was tired of not
being able to get out of bed without help or not being able
to do my favourite hobbies, gardening and cycling. I was
ready to have my subluxations taken care of.
Two months after
my care started, I was able to leave my painkillers where
they belong. medicine cabinet. And I haven't
used them ever since. I can be totally, normally functional
and do all I want without being miserable weeks after. Being
functional has increased my quality of life beyond belief.
I'm happy to be 73 years old and it feels so good to have
other people to notice that change in me.
After my husband
saw me getting well, it was clear he wanted to be part of
the chiropractic crusade. He has really become the true chiropractic
advocate. He got rid of his minor complaints and keeps telling
everyone they should go and see his chiropractor, Dr Harri.
We both believe chiropractic has brought more years to our
lives and more life to our years and we cannot tell people
enough how important it is to take better care of themselves
before they get as bad as I was. Thanks to chiropractic.
