finland chiropractic

Dr. Harri Maki-Pesola Pori, Finland

My experience from chiropractic has always been very positive. I got immediate help for my dizziness a decade back and my upper back pain was relieved a few years ago. Therefore, it was a natural thing for me to seek a chiropractor again after a car accident. The accident happened when we were crossing the road when a truck driver didn't stop on a red light. Instead he hit our car on the left rear end. The collision made the car spin and it seemed like my head was going to spin off. My husband drove our car and shortly lost his consciousness when hitting his head on the side window. After the release from hospital the next day our problems started. I started to have headaches and weird problems with my eyes. I couldn't see as well and that made reading very difficult. My husband's problems were much worse. His headaches became worse by the day, he had pain and numbness in his hands, he couldn't turn his head due to muscle pain in his neck and he felt like vomiting all the time.

The x-rays were taken in the hospital but the doctor told us there weren't any fractures or any other visible problems. It was time to visit a chiropractor. This time it was a different one (Dr Harri), because the one I used to visit didn't want to see us only a few days after an accident. We were lucky enough to get an appointment with the new chiropractor in town. We discovered that we both had lost the normal neck curve and that my husband's spine was already bending forwards. This didn't appear to be a new problem, because I had told my husband for years he should sit up straight and the chiropractor showed us both that there were already some bony spurs and that the discs weren't as high as they normally should be. In addition, my posture was way off from normal and it seemed as if I was standing on leg only. We both decided that our spines needed correction.

The experience was what I had expected. Both of us were much better shortly after we started care but as we went along we started to appreciate what the chiropractor was telling us. This time the care was not only to get us feeling better but to correct us so that we would stay better. During our care (last 1,5yrs) our posture has changed and our health has improved. We have also made it possible for our children to get regularly cared for. This was especially important for our eldest daughter who had to wear a corrective brace for 12 months to correct her scoliosis. She is now straight and feels wonderful.
