I guess you could say Harris Family Chiropractic found me. I was discussing
to a friend on how my two year old had hearing loss and chronic
fluid in her ears, so of course the first thing the doctor's recommended
were ear tubes. My oldest daughter, now seven, had them done at the ago
of two. It worked as far as eliminating the infections, but she now has
scar tissue and I feel she is more susceptible to allergies!!

Heather heard me explain this to a friend and told me there
are alternatives to tubes, such as pediatric Chiropractic care. I had
never heard of this type of practice, I thought it was only for adults.
I was only reluctant because of the fear of the unknown!!!
Well I went
home and discussed this with my husband, who is very skeptical of homeopathic
practices. One thing we agreed on was that we did not want her to have
the surgery! So we started Meredith the end of April twice a week. She
saw her pediatrician two weeks into the chiropractic treatment and still
showed chronic fluid and the pediatrician scheduled an ENT appointment
ten day later. I still was not ready to give up, I know it took a year
for the fluid to build up in the ear canals and it probably won't go
away over night. Meredith needed six more visits with Dr. Andy and we
then saw the ENT.
Meredith had a hearing test by an audiologist and we
couldn't believe she heard everything!!! The ENT looked in her ears and
not a trace of fluid was detected!! Needless to say the ENT was ready
to schedule a surgery on Meredith because he said, "it is rare
fluid that has been in the ear canal more than 6 months ever releases
itself." He contributed the clear ears to warm weather, I laughed to
myself.
Well Doc miracles do happen and I thank God for placing
Dr. Heather in my path that day! Meredith is now a completely
different child; she is less frustrated (except when she is two and now
much more verbal). In June, she heard her first thunderstorm, birds chirping
in the morning and the wind whistling in her ears; her reactions were
priceless. As for my husband, he is becoming more open minded on alternatives
to traditional medicine (not that he is a fan of doctors anyway). I can't
thank Dr. Andy and Dr. Heather Harris enough for giving me
my happy hearing baby back.
