Dr. Kalani Jose, Oxnard, CA
Going to school at age 11, I spent most of my time in the nurses'
office. I suffered from severe headaches called Migraines and was not able
to function in school. I would take Anacin, an aspirin, for the pain and
end up going home. I would get the headaches 3-4 times per
week and my parents were worried and scared because they didn't know what
was wrong with me. They knew it wasn't normal to have their 11-year-old
daughter suffering from these headaches. My parents then took me to have
various types of testing such as: CAT scans, MRI's, Medical Exams, etc,
everything was negative. My medical doctor would prescribe me medication
for headaches and would make me dizzy, not able to function in school.
If that medication wouldn't work, she would give me stronger medication.
I really got tired of the medication.
At the age of 19, I went to medical
assisting school and a chiropractor did a talk on chiropractic and how
it can help with headaches. I told myself, "how come I have never heard of chiropractic?" So, I went in
and got examined, x-rayed, and found out I have 14 subluxations and most
of them were in my neck where the nerves go to the head. I received my
first adjustment, I admit I was scared to have my neck "popped", but
I felt a massive amount of pressure release from my head!
I felt really tired and had a lot of soreness and had to
ice. I would actually fall asleep in my car right after. I cried 2 weeks
later because I noticed my headaches diminished. I couldn't believe how
removing the interference could make the headaches disappear.
Now, I work
in the profession and have been for the last 8 years! My
duty is to let everyone know you don't need all the medication to allow
your body to function. I get my adjustments by my chiropractor, Dr. Kalani
2-3 times per week. I get headaches now 1-2 times per month! That's it
and I know how to treat it, adjustments and plenty of rest. Thank you
Lord, for directing me to Chiropractic.
