Dr Peter Proud, Stourbridge, England

On the 14 th July 2005 I came to see Dr. Peter Proud as a result of a newspaper advertisement in the local paper. This was a last ditch attempt on my behalf that he might be able to help me. You see I was suffering from excruciating lower back pain that I have suffered with for many years, most of it caused by accidents at work.

I was receiving treatment from a N.H.S consultant who dealt solely in back problems and had been under him for quite a few years. Oh' they had tried over many years to cure my back injuries, giving me traction-epidural injections ( I have had more needles stuck in me than a pin cushion) and finally severing the nerves in my lower back.

I've had more MRI scans on my spine than most people have had hot dinners and then the final straw was when they put me on Morphine and Methocarbamol pain killers, both heavy doses. These were taken 3 times a day every day to start with then after 12 months they reduced the dose to 2 a day every day. They were supposed to kill the pain all they did was to dull it, and on a bad day they didn't get anywhere near dulling the pain. On these bad days the pain would just scream in my back all day long and quite often all night as well.

It got to the stage where if someone patted me on the back in a friendly manner or I turned around a bit quick, then the pain would just scream and put me through hell. This was how I was when I came to see Dr. Peter. He checked me over and examined me in ways that no other Doctor had thought of, not even the so-called expert consultants.

On the following Monday I came in for the results, I was expecting the same kind of results that I had become used to from previous examinations. What I was shown was to say the least 'Horrifying' If I hadn't been sat down I think I would have collapsed. My spine was twisted way out of alignment with my life force and my neck was in stage 2 subluxation and I was learning forward at a straight angle of 31mm.

I had a pronounced forward head posture from being round shouldered, caused by working in a press forge setting dies for 17 years .Since the age of 23 I have been working in one form of heavy industry or the other. This is where most of my injuries were obtained. Luckily Dr. Peter said that he could help me, but it could take a long time. At last some one was giving me a 'lifeline'

Since then I have been having my adjustments 3 times a week and doing my exercises. In the past 9 weeks I have visibly straightened up. I am walking more upright and feeling a lot better in myself. My general health is improving and at last I have hope for the future. I have started to reduce the amount of pain killers that I am taking each day because the back and neck pain has reduced to a stage where I am even able to get a good nights sleep.

Thank you Dr. Peter
