Dr. Allen Miner, Health Quest, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Jeannie ~ August 12, 2005

I first heard about Health Quest while listening to 770KOB during a huge snow storm, stuck in traffic. I heard about posture and its effects and I sit at a desk on a computer all day – so I called immediately!

I first saw a chiropractor years ago after a car accident. I read lots of brochures and information about the practice, and believed it was a way of healing and preventing the need to “be healed” at the same time. I am hooked on chiropractic! After hearing about Health Quest-I knew I had found the office for me. I have been seeing a chiropractor at least once every 3 months for almost 10 years, and was in a repeating pattern that didn’t seem to be progressing. I wanted a defined long term goal with noted improvement, not just maintenance of a recurring issue that wasn’t going away.

Upon entering the office, I learned SO much! I learned that I had been receiving chiropractic care that was not designed to provide the results that I had envisioned. Chiropractic could be so much more than relief of a headache or stiff neck. I learned that correcting the stiff neck was the key, and that I needed to (and could!) correct the problem instead of masking it or temporarily relieving it. I learned that how I move, sleep, walk, work, exercise and carry things could be modified to help keep me healthy. And I re-learned that having a positive attitude and being around those that emphasize and empower that behavior is very important too. Just because the causes of our problems are often complex does not mean that the treatment or resolution has to be!

How has my life changed through the course of care? Wonderfully! I feel so much better so much more of the time. I don’t need to take pain “relievers” because I have less ache and soreness! I have a better outlook, I don’t feel as tired, and I have met some really neat people along the way. I even have different conversations with co-workers and have begun to recognize in each one of us how our own choices are creating our health patterns. We need to stop and look at ourselves every once in a while.

I’d rather do this every week and never have to see a “traditional” doctor again! Keeping healthy is better and easier that trying to regain health or create a false sense of health via drugs or any other way!

Who would I suggest be checked in a chiropractic office? Everyone! And I tell them so!
