I've had back issues on and off for 30 years. Then I tore my Achilles
Tendon at the heel resulting in a limp. Favoring the injured
leg aggravated my existing back and hip issues. I suffered with this
for 18 months. It was painful and debilitating. I walked stooped forward
and sideways. I'm a runner and with these problems I was no longer able
to run.
Before coming here I had a negative view of chiropractic.
I thought getting adjusted would be at least as painful as the pain
I was already having, if not worse! I went to a chiropractor
who did one adjustment. I survived and and never went back! Who knows? Maybe he put
me on the road to recovery, but you couldn't have convinced me at the
time. Then I started having numbness in my hand. MD's gave me anti-inflammatory
drugs to no avail, then wanted to recommend a neurosurgeon. I didn't
want expensive and painful surgeries, so I decided to give chiropractic
another try. The MD would only refer me to a physical therapist, but
I wanted to try chiropractic anyway. I met Dr. Dodd at a Bible Study
so I came to see him.
Chiropractic care was able to correct
the hand numbness in one or two treatments. At Dr. Carpenter's
recommendation I was prescribed orthotics to correct the
skeletal imbalances that were aggravating my heel and knee injuries. With the orthotics and the adjustments, the joint
problems became minimal. For years I had not been able to stand
all day or walk for an extended time on concrete without foot pain. Since
starting care, I have been able to stand all day on concrete floors without
problems. I have minimal flare-ups occasionally, but if I keep my appointments
they get back under control. I've noticed that I stand much straighter
now. My overall posture has improved.
Thanks to the doctors
for the great care and for giving me the ability to resume normal activities
without pain! I'm glad I got over my anxieties and gave chiropractic
a try!
